so for my project I used the new Background Basics stamp set.. it has this fun "road" stamp on it that I thought would be perfect for this card. I also used the Priceless Joy car and sentiment for this card..

Yay!! I am so glad you are here.. for my card I used 2 out of the 3 new sets.. I used the Background Basics, for the Chevron Pattern, and the Talk to Me quote bubble and sentiment. I love how this card turned out. it's fun and playful.. yet super trendy.. and way easy to make.. I used worn lipstick, and pummis stone distress inks for my colors..

I have to tell you all I was so inspired by Barbs photos that she has taken.. she truly is an amazing photographer.. I just adore the bird on a wire.. and wanted to take inspiration from it!

how I got my inspiration:

Today is the last day of our Grand Opening.. We first would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of you for making us feel so loved and welcome. I have tell you starting this journey can be fun and scary at the same time, but you all have been amazing.. so THANKS!!

don't you just love teal and pink together.. I know I do.. for this card I used the Snow Much Fun set.. The snow and snow swirls and embossed, that bucket has a real metal handle with some twine around it.. I love that the bird is standing on it.. I am having a ball using these stamps.. ZOOM!!!!... isn't this a fun set! This is from the Priceless Joy set and let me tell you this was such a fun card to make. I just love paper piecing these little guys... one thing I love.. wait LOVE about acrylic stamps is the flexible way you can make them move.. like my word zoom... I just bent the stamp a bit..

shh..a little surprise... I used the cloud from Feb collection of the TAWS stamps... :) hehe it just went perfectly.. I couldn't wait to ink it up

Isn't this such a "happy" card.. pun intended..hehe.. I just love how this turned out! The bright fun colors and then the Birthday popped out at you.. just makes me happy! This card is made using the Jibber Jabber set.. and let me tell you that set is full of just that.. jabber.. but good jabber!

Little Lady... and a freebie

Did someone say FREEBIE!!!.....YES! I did.. So the first Wednesday of each month The Alley Way Stamps are going to have a freebie. Now this will be either a shaped card template, digital stamp and sentiment or both.. these will be available here on the blog and be placed under the freebies section! :) So today is one of those freebie day's.

I have this adorable shaped card template that is a onesie. Not only is the card template for free, but the ladybug and a sentiment too :) I paper pieced her and added some stitching lines, and ribbon.

This next card is from our Kitchen Gadgets set... This set is so much fun to play with, one of my favorite things is you can choose to add the smiley faces or leave them off. :)

It's HERE!!! I can't believe it.. the day is finally here! The Alley Way Stamps is now OPEN!! WOOHOO! I am in a bit of shock. This has been a dream for a very long time. I am so excited that I get to share it with all of you. I hope you will stop by the blog, have a look around and say Hi!

Here is my first creation using MY new stamps!! :) I can't believe it!

This is from the new stamp set "Snow Much Fun".. what I love about it.. you get to create your own snow person the way you want it to look. :)

I paper pieced my little snowman, used the snow squiggles, to add the effect of snow.. I also used some puffy paint around the bottom, and dotted it too.. I placed glassy accents on the heart and his nose. I chose this sentiment, because I think it is perfect for the Jan cold months here in Utah! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful new year! I sure did.. Thanks for such an amazing blog year.. here is to 2012..

Spark Challenge

So for my creation for the spark challenge.. I loved the idea of a wall hanging photos.. and Emily totally made this cute card.. so I was totally inspired by her creation. Mine of course is a little different.. and it looks sooo easy.. and it is.. just lots of steps.. at least how I did it. :) so I took the 2 rectangle shaped signs from the hang up's set and stamped them out 1x for the large, and 4 times for the small. I then cut them out.. leaving a little border. I stuck these down to my card base temporary, and then used broken china distress ink and rubbed it all over the card.. In real life the blue is a much more pale blue.. :) then I took the masks off to have the white squares. Using a post it note, I placed it down, and stamped out the rectangles using the Pumice Stone distress ink, then using that same ink I stamped the birds all but the yellow one and the sentiment with the same color.. I used some fuzzy scallop ribbon to separate the two.. I really love how this turned out.. :)

Hey everyone! Well I am so honored to tell you that Market Street Stamps asked me to be the Guest DT Member for December... So I had to make something fun and Jolly of course. I had to play with these adorable new stamps the snowflake one is called Flurries. LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp.. I would love to see these snowflakes larger as a snowflake set.. they are amazing.. The reindeer and sentiment come from the set Prancer, this is such a fun stamp, if you look closely the reindeer is made up of snowflakes.. :)

So my idea for this project was to make a chimney (you can download it from SVG Cuts)

I did something a little different where I added some American Craft ribbon to make it look like icicles, and heat embossed with white oh kraft cardstock on the chimney it's self to make it look like it is snowing.. then I thought, no chimney would be complete without a reindeer. So I added some bakers twin, a little red and gold stickles to our little fella and popped him off the chimney to give the illusion of him flying.. :) All and all I love how this turned out.. WOW.. it feels so good to get a little bit of crafting time in.. so I decided to play along with the Paper Sm ooches Spark Challenge.. this photo to me was SOO inspiring..

How I took inspiration from this photo...

-the light blue and white with a "pop" of yellow

-The butterflies hanging in two of the frames

-Stripes on the table cloth (stripes of butterflies)

-The pattern inside the frames (dots on butterflies)

-Texture (heat embossed the dots)

I used 2 stamp sets for this creation, the Alphadots set is the spots on all the butterflies. The Word Salad is the sentiment. I used the Martha Stewart triple butterfly punch to punch out all the butterflies, and then creased them each in the middle, lined them up and placed them in rows on the card.. hope you have a wonderful weekend.. hugs

I'm BACK!!!

Okay.. so most of you probably didn't really notice that I was gone.. but for those 1 or 2 (thanks Jenny ;) that totally did.. I just wanted to let you know I am BACK!! :) woohoo.. I am so sorry for being gone so long.. I came down with a wicked case of pneumonia and couldn't kick it..I literally did almost nothing for a month.. it was totally crazy.. well I have a little creation to share with you all.. It's a publish reject.. :( but none the less it's a fun card.. so.... here it is..

This card was made by using the stamp set Fun{tache}tic by The Craft's Meow (this is my favorite set of theirs. Lisa just came out with a bunch of new stamps too.. I really liked making this card.. and think that there are not enough fun men's designs out there.. so when I got this set in the mail, it quickly became one of my favorites..

Well I hope you all have been doing good this past month.. I have missed many of you.. I can't wait to get back in the crafty seat.. :) Have a great week.. HUGS

Hey everyone!! :) well I have another cute Sweet Stamp Shop creation for you today.. This time I am using the set called Sweet Tooth.. You are probably looking at the card thinking..umm.. what?? lol :) well on this adorable set you have these amazing circles, and gumballs.. well I really wanted to showcase that and let you see how versatile this set really is.. So I made a little pleated half circle and placed some colored "gumballs" on top to bring in the colors I used on the side of the card.. I really am pleased with how this turned out! :)

Hey everyone! So first I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who have voted for me.. (if you don't know what I am talking about and would like to vote, click here).. You can vote each day.. so if you haven't voted today.. head on over and do it! :)

For this project I used the stamp set Happy H'owl'oween from The Craft's Meow.. now I know this is not a halloween creation.. it's a cute little canvas.. a Christmas one that will be standing in the front by my door.. :) but I used these adorable Halloween Stamps (the owl) and made some little hats, to turn them into a Christmas Owl Couple.. :)

I really love how this turned out.. there is lots of textures, and fun elements I wish you all could feel/see it in person the clouds are made with stencil puffy stuff (don't remember what it's called, but it's 3d and has a texture to it.. I used rubons, a pen, some cute paper, paint, little gems, a flag w/flower, and of course some fun ribbon from pebbles in my pocket.. It goes around the whole canvas to bring it all together.. :) Thanks so much for looking! Hope you are having a wonderful week..hugs

Life SSS second post GDT

Hey everyone! I have a cute little creation to share with you today.. It's my second post as the Sweet Stamp Shop GDT :) and I am super excited!.. I just adore the fun whimsical images Nicole has drawn up.. and this one is one of my favorites.. it's called The Core of it :) isn't that such a cute name.. I fell in love with this apple that is just the "core" hehe left..for my creation..

I really wanted to show you how adorable this single stamp is.. and how you can take one stamp and create a whole card.. :) so that's what I did.. I used Cosmo Cricket Clementine pp to paper piece one of the apples to make it stand out. I also wanted to bring in a little more color.. so I used some twine, and the distress ink shabby shutters to stamp my sentiment in.. I really like the colors and how this turned out :) Thanks for stopping by.. and stop by SSS blog too :) hugs

Haunted House

Hey everyone! Well Liberty took her nap today.. and I really needed.. wait I NEEDED some crafty time.. so I took it! :) If you know me.. crafty time is my destressor.. soo :) my house didn't really get cleaned.. but I got a craft project done does that count? lol :) I haven't done much with Halloween this year, so I really wanted to make something fun for my house! :) sooo.. I created a cute haunted house..

before putting this together, I stamped some spiderwebs (using Market Street Stamps for this whole thing..)on the house in white and heat embossed them. then I wanted to add some fun little things.. Like a cute ghost, a couple flying bats, some little spiders.. and I just had randomly won this set from Market Street Stamps.. and really wanted to ink them up.. :) so I used this collection called Sweet Spooks... LOVE it!!

There are so many little details on this project..

The spiders on the webs have some black stickles placed on top of them..

I really wanted this house to have texture.. so I bent the fence, and also added some black distress ink all over the whole project so that it gave it nice shadows and made things stand out a bit more..

I placed the bats and ghost on wire to make them seem like they are flying :) also I used some green vellum behind the windows to give it a glow.. :)

I am for sure entering this into the Market Street Stamps block party..(since I totally used only their amazing stamps :) Thanks for looking :) hugs

It's been a crazy week....

So yesterday I needed to blow off some of my stress.. so I made a super quick and simple card.. I wanted to play along with the Spark Challenge at Paper Smooches.. the inspiration is so much fun! So I made a cute little onsie card I really love how it turned out..

For this card I used the Vegtastic little peas, and the top of the carrot for the green around them, I also used the sentiments and hearts from that set too.. :) Love this set.. so many possiblities.. :) The onsie template is from paper smooches also.. I used memento ink, distress ink old paper & fired brick , copic pen, pp is MME life of the party, Cosmo Cricket Clementine.

last night.. it was almost time for Liberty to go to bed, she was playing the rockband drums.. and was so excited, she tripped and hit her eye on the coffee table.. end results.. trip to the ER and 4 little stitches.. :( what a bummer.. needless to say this week has been crazy!

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes for my dad.. he is doing better, he had to have a stent put into the front main artery that was block 99%.. he has a few others that are borderline, but they would like to try to clear some of them up with medications.. he has to take it easy.. and work his way back up to his "normal"... :)

Hey everyone! Sorry that I didn't get this up sooner, my Dad had a heart attack yesterday and I have been at the hospital ever since..

If you haven't heard about Operation Julie's Smile then let me tell you a little about it.

The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae. You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more. What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out. Butthen it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!

Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.

It is the goal of all of these generous friends & sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.

I wanted to make a creation today that I thought would make Julie and the rest of you smile.. :) So I created this card.. I used tissue paper, and some home made glimmer mist to put this card together.. the circle stamp is from Unity and the little sentiment is from Market Street Stamps..

Welcome Baby! PS Spark Challenge

Hey everyone!!! Well first I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all the well wishes to Stefan & Stretch.. they are doing much better.. just sore, and a little bruised.. They will need some massage/adjusting but they are doing good..

I haven't had much "creative time" lately.. but really wanted to play along with the Paper Smooches Spark Challenge.. So this is the inspiration photo:

and this is my creation..

I used 2 paper smooches stamp sets.. the A Little Lovin for the sentiment & the Friendly Flowers set.. Yes.. I really did use both of them.. Oh.. I also used the Paper Smooches onsie template.. so cute!

for the base I clear embossed my own flower pattern using the Friendly Flowers set.. it looks so neat IRL.. :) I used some Rasselberry glimmer spray and tissue paper to make the "ruffle".. it turned out so cool.. and the texture ROCKS!! I added some twine, a little safety pin, and some white faux stitching.. I know I am cutting it close.. but with everything going on.. I still wanted to play along..

Hey everyone! I wanted to wish you all a happy World Cardmaking day! I also wanted to let you all know.. that I will be back posting soon.. but no cards from me today.. Stefan and Stretch were in a car accident (they were rear ended and they both have pretty bad whiplash, and are bruised.. but everyone is doing well right now.. so I am going to be spending time being a mom and wife.. Hey everyone!! :) I can't believe it's Thursday already.. the time is going by so fast.. well here is my card for you today.. I wanted this to be a simple yet fun card.. so I used this months Unity Kit Of The Month Stamp set... called All Seasons.. I love it! It's so much fun to use.. it has this adorable snowman "stamp" that I just couldn't wait to ink up..

I really wanted just one of the snowmen to pop off the page.. so I colored just one of them.. and then added some twine that matched.. :) well I hope you all are having a wonderful week.. come back tomorrow for my last project as the Growing in Unity Girl.. :)

I have to tell you if you don't already know.. I just LOVE houses.. I don't know why but I do.. so this is the adorable stamp set (honey i'm home from Unity) I used today.. it is such a sweet set..I really love it.. I paper pieced the heck out of that house.. I used an exacto knife to cut out the windows. Something fun, I don't know if you can see it but I dry embossed/scored the back of the card, to give it a fun texture.. :) well thanks so much for stopping by today...

woohoo.. okay so you are back for another project.. well for this one I wanted to bring you a super fun CAS card.. with lots of bright colors.. and I think I did that..

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a FUN{TACHE}TIC day!! Hehe okay so I am a dork :) Can I just tell you I LOVE these stamps..they are from The Craft's Meow this is their 2 newest sets. I used the owl and the mustache.. I paper pieced the whole card.. I was going for a circus/ring master effect.. I hope I did it :)

I wanted the "curtain" to be more like fabric, and curled up the scallops..

I gave him a stool to sit on.. :) anyways.. this is a super simple, and fun card from me.. HUGS

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far.. I have a SUPER SIMPLE card to share.. This is my idea of a "vintage baby card." Okay lets all face it.. I don't do vintage very well.. I think of vintage as more of the kraft cardstock, colors, and distressing.. so this is what I came up with.. :) I added some stickles to the middles of the hearts for a little "flair.." thanks for stopping by.. Super Snazzy!!! hehe.. isn't that the best sentiment ever??? I just love it! This set is from The Craft's Meow it's called Fun{tache}tic (this is the other set I won.. Thanks Lisa!)and let me tell you.. all these little staches are amazingly fun to play with.. This is totally a CAS card, and the hardest part of the card was 1-finding 2 of the same small buttons.. 2- trying to get those little buggers to be straight.. :) but really it's a super fun card.. I think I might just make a bunch to have on hand.. you can never have to many "guy" cards can you?? I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!! :) hugs

********ETA: I was looking at this card and wasn't happy.. something felt like it was missing.. BIG DUH!!! to me.. the little bat's ears.. (blushing here) I was so excited to get this posted.. I forgot the ears.. I have NOW... used the little cat whiskers and added ears.. :) much better.. oops)

Hey!! Okay.. sooo this card may look CAS.. but it's CA took a while to figure out.. so CATAWTFO..lol :)

Really it did.. this is the reason why.. see that adorable bat.. well he use to be a spider... and his wings, they were "cat whiskers" yep.. I used the cat whiskers from this set to make bat wings.. I paper pieced this whole card.. and the spider web is just part of the web that comes with this set.. You may be asking yourself.. DUH Alison!! Why didn't you just use that adorable bat that came with it?? Well 2 reasons.. 1-I needed a little bigger bat to balance out this card. 2- You know me.. I have to do it the "hard/my way" lol :) The only thing I wish was different about this set.. I wish there were a spider and a bat sentiment.. like I'm batty for you., or I'm Batty,. or swinging by to say hi.. :) but I still LOVE IT!! :) This set is from The Craft's Meow (Designed by Jenny Suchin)

Stretch was only 1 year old, and I remember my heart going out to everyone.. but my heart hurt so much for those little children.. Today we REMEMBER those that lost their lives 10 years ago today.. We thank their families, friends, and those heroes.. we will never forget..

I had some "mommy time" while Liberty was sleeping.. and I really was so inspired by the Spark Challenge going on at Paper Smooches.. so I had to play.. You get to draw inspiration from the photo.. and I did.. Peach, Lime Green, Baby Blue, Circles, Dots, and a little bit of shine to "top" it off.. :) I really love how this turned out.. It looks more "calm" in real life.. the camera made it a tiny bit brighter than it is.. never the less.. :) I like the look...

The "non" traditional colors for Christmas... here is how I made it.. All Stamps are from Paper Smooches...

Okay.. yes.. I am sorry.. I have another card today.. I won these stamps from The Craft's Meow.. (this set is called Happy H'owl'oween isn't that a fun name) and HAD to play with them RIGHT AWAY!!! So.. I couldn't wait.. This card was inspired by the sketch challenge at The Craft's Meow.. I of course added my own flair.. but really love how it turned out.. I think for now it might be a new favorite card of mine :)

I paper pieced the owls and the cute little bats.. :) and popped them off the card..

I also pleated the "grass" for a fun look.. I love how it turned out.. all the papers here are from basic gray.. :) Thanks for looking! Hope you are having a wonderful, craft filled weekend.. hugs

Hey everyone.. Yes.. it's me again.. :) well duh.. who else would be posting on MY blog.. okay.. but this is my 2n post today.. I got to craft some and I wanted to play along with Wee Memories challenge (single layered card).. and I have to tell you something.. I have 3 guilty pleasures when it comes to stamps.. Houses, Birds, and Trees... I seriously can't get enough.. okay so for Christmas you all can send me your unused house stamps.. no.. j/k but really I do love these

This set is again yes from Unity.. (Lynn has me hooked, and it was a free set... so what could be better.. free and a house set) it's called Honey I'm Home.. LOVE IT!!!!!

Hey everyone! Here is a simple card I created using Unity's KOM stamp Aug 2010 :) I followed the sketch for this month on the blog.. I really like how i turned out..

I cut out the little circles in the middle of the flowers, and placed the same papers I used for the flower behind it :) I thought it brought it all together.. (yes I I know I left one white, I wanted it to stand out ..;) hehe) I used MFT trio flower die for the flower.. Thanks so much for looking! HUGS

Hey everyone.. so The Paper Variety is having a "photo" challenge.. so I thought I would join in.. I am trying to use up some of my "old scraps" that I have.. I just adore this photo of Stretch when he was only 4.. wow the time does fly.. :( This was taken at a local fair of ours.. I love the bright colors of the photo, and his expression is priceless to me:)

Q: for you all... how do you do dates on your layouts? I have the hardest time with this.. I usually put the date of the photo on the front of the layout.. and then the date I made it on the back.. So I am curious if anyone else does this or maybe you do it a different way.. hugs

Bare feet welcome...

I am not ready to give up summer just yet.. So here is a simple creation I made.. totally being inspired by the challenge my sweet friend Lynn is hosting at Do More With Less... :) & Emily's challenge.. with the grass in her picture.. since this will be going on my door for a few weeks at least.. I thought it would be perfect for her "home challenge"

So you are asking.. what did you do? well... I used an old wreath I got from Wally World for 3 dollars... it was covered in red, white, and blue flowers for memorial day.. I took it apart.. and found this yarn I had lying around.. I wrapped the wreath and made pom, poms to make it look like grass.. I then took some twine, and some scraps of paper and made the banner... the "bare feet welcome" is held on by a sucker stick, that Liberty kindly ate for me.. (of course we washed it;) I added little white flowers for a fun little added touch!

Hey everyone! I am trying to get some of my lost mojo back.. so I decided to do a sketch challenge.. I used the sketch from Sketch Sat.. it's a super fun and easy one to do.. :) That's right up my alley.. Don't forget to stop by Unity's FWF and link up :)

There are a lot of details on this card.. one fun element is.. for the clouds I used a tree top.. from unity called bella trees I loved the size of this tree top.. and needed a cloud that size for my rocket..

I also wanted a lot of textures, and dimension on this card.. so I ended up rolling up the puffs coming off the rocket, and the clouds.. :) Hope you can see that here..I used MME patterned paper, and black puffy paint to go around the letters and the rocket.. :) Thanks for looking at my simple creation today! hugs

Missing Mojo -Creation

Hey everyone! Well we survived our camping trip :) and we had a blast.. it was so much fun hanging out, shooting guns, riding 4wheelers, catching crawdads, and watching the kids have a ball.. :) here are some fun shots.. ( I am always behind the camera.. so I didn't get any photos.. anyone else the picture taker in their family?)

Gram and Liberty (she fell asleep while 4 wheeling.. so we let her lay down.. what a silly girl)

Poppie and Pearl (of course we had to bring Pearl along, she is one of the family... she loved it)

Stefan and Stretch starting our fire.. (what a good boy-scout)

-On a crafty note, I feel like I have lost some of my creative mojo..:( So this is a simple card that I made to try and get back in the swing of things.. I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend.. :)

I used Lindy's stamp gang starburst stain to splat on the stain.. it was a bunch of fun.. These stamps are all from Unity.. (love them..) this is the butterfly stamp set you can win (see my candy on the sidebar)

I embossed the 2 smaller butterflies (wet embossed,) and also the background is dry embossed too :) Thanks so much for looking.. HUGS

Hey everyone! I am headed out for the holiday weekend. We are going camping, well in a motor-home..but it's still camping..dirt and all.. :) We are going with a group of people around 60-80 and we are stoked.. it's going to be a blast.. :)

I created this card for the Friends with Flair contest at Unity.. and wanted to get it posted before I left..

The colors didn't show up well.. they are green, blue, black and white of course.. I used puffy paint for the dots around the tree.. :) this is a super simple creation.. HUGS

Cosmo Cricket Hello Dear Friend

Hey everyone! I wanted to give you all a little update on Liberty.. She is doing much better.. :) We were having trouble getting her to urinate after her kidney reflex surgery.. but SHE IS PEEING! okay..I know that may not be a big deal to some.. but for us.. it's HUGE :) Thanks for all your thoughts prayers and well wishes..!!

-My card for you today is one that I thought of late last night before I fell asleep.. anyone else do that? Sit in bed and think of creations?:) Okay I am a Unique.. that's okay :)

All my papers are from the Cosmo Cricket collection Salt Air. (I LOVE Cosmo Cricket papers)..and these colors.. :) Cosmo Cricket is having a sketch contest going on right now too.. so I thought I would join in and use these amazing papers! :) Oh if you look at the bottom of the card.. those scallop circles float too :)

For the middle of the card I used my circle punch and made my own scallop center.. I guess you would call it.. The little white dots are .59 cent puffy paint.. (love this stuff.. ) I bent every circle to give it more texture and so it would almost fall like fabric.

The stamp "Hello dear friend" is from Unity's Could I Be Any Cuter set.. LOVE IT! I used my sewing machine and sewed around the card. Bakers twine to tie it up. Using Colorbox Cat Eye dark brown chalk ink, I distressed the card. I used stickles in the middle of the mini May Lilly prima flowers. To stamp the sentiment I used Unity's Burnt Amber ink pad.. Okay I am going to let you all in on a little secret.. shh.. don't tell.. when I was stamping my image I put to much pressure and got the "line" around the sentiment.. I was so bummed.. but knew I didn't want to make another card.. I mean.. who would want to start over right? So I placed some little white puffy paint dots on the "mistake." Who would have guessed that I LOVE how it turned out! Sometimes using our mistakes makes our creations have more interest!

Littly boy...

Hey everyone! Well I have to tell you my mom is amazing!! She really is.. after visiting the hospital 3 times yesterday with Liberty.. she thought I needed a "crafty break!" She totally knows that "creative time" for me is the best stress reducer.. So I got to play.. :) I have to tell you I love Unity Stamps. The quality of the stamps are amazing, and the designs ROCK! :) So I grabbed one of my favorites for now.. it's called "in the clouds." I never feel like I have enough boy cards, and I feel like they are so much harder to create then girly cards.. so I wanted to give it a whirl.. :)

All my paper is from Cosmo Cricket collection social club. (I LOVE Cosmo Cricket papers).. they are having a sketch contest going on right now too.. so I thought I would join in! :)

For the "road" in my card I used some teal/blue patterned paper, I pleated it for fun, and some cream twine to make it look like the "lines" of the road :)

I really wanted to give this card textures, so I grabbed my Martha Stewart shredding scissors and made some "grass... I love the patterns that were in this collection and I thought they would be perfect..

I ended up pop dotting the clouds, and adding some paper piercing around the clouds and the whole card for added dimension. Oh I also used Unity burnt amber ink.. it's more of a brown.. and I love the feel it gave the card.. I distressed the heck out of it..:)

Paper Smooches GDT Week 4

I can't believe it is my last week as a GDT member with Paper Smooches Stamps.. I have had so much fun playing with these guys.. Thank you to Kim for giving me the chance to shine on your blog.. :) on to my creation....

Can you believe this simple little card I used 7 stamp sets from Paper Smooches.. I love them.. and this was ton's of fun!

The waves and the dots on the boat came from the Alphadots set. The Sail is made from the banana in the Fruitastic set. That cute little star on the sail is from the hang in there set. I used the surf and turf set for the sentiment, and the wave. The adorable little bird is from the FOLKal points set. The cloud is from the Spiffy Scooters set. The base of the boat is from the Vegtastic set.

I took a piece of wood from a dead branch outside, cut it down to size, and wrapped some twine around it to give it character. :)

I have to tell you this card is so fun, fast, and easy to make.. okay.. all you have to do is ink up your whole Alphadot stamp set (first take off the "hi" from the cling sheet.. lay your paper on top of the stamps and rub.. :) take the "hi" and ink them up in the color you like.. :) and stamp.. add a few embellishments and voila.. :) it's one of my favorites right now.. :)

I have to tell you.. We had a blast swimming and hanging out over at my dear, sweet, adorable friend Lisa Bearnsons house.. Lisa is the best.. She and Steve (her husband) are actually my children's "God Parents" if you would. If anything happens to Stefan and I (and my parents can't take the kids) Lisa & Steve are the ones who get them.. Lisa was so excited when I talked to her about it.... She just loves them both.. and the kids get along so well with hers.. anyways.. enough blabbing.. here is a video for our family and friend of us swimming..

Stefan got a new underwater camera.. so they really enjoyed goofing off.. :)

Okay.. here is a crafty post.. This is s SUPER simple card.. i made using paper smooches stamps. I just inked up the whole alphabet... took out the "i" "o" and "u" and inked those up separately.. I also placed a heart instead of an "o" :)

Okay.. does anyone remember that show.. School House Rock?? :) Dating myself right now.. hehe.. Let me first apologize for the bazillion photos. I know I don't usually have that many.. but I thought this project warranted them..

This is a fun School house that I made for my son's 6th grade teacher (for back to school) :).. You know what the coolest part is.. SHE WAS MY 6th GRADE teacher TOO :) He is super excited to go back, and he loves school. I love that he is such a wonderful student... :)

Okay.. :) onto my project and the details.

I used velum for the windows to give it that "real" effect.

The trees here are from a Unity Stamp set.. called "A little playtime" ( I don't have this set, but my friend Susan does.. so she stamped a couple for me.. :) Thanks Susan! ) I so want it.. it's on my "wish list" right now..:) I colored the trees with Copic Markers, and the "door knob" is a little button.

Okay moving on.. The "ABC" on the front of my school house and...

The cool 2 stepped number pattern on the top of the little tower are both from the June 2011 kit at Unity.. Oh and the best part.. is this kit is on sale right now for $20.00 what a steal.. :)

My little school house opens up.. so I can put treats, etc. inside.. :) so I did just that..

Woohoo.. Look at some of the loot.. :)

I used the adorable Just Circles set from unity and made little tags to go on the treat for his teacher.. I found this adorable poem.. and I "fixed" it to work my son's teacher to say the things I wanted to say.. :) I placed each tag with an eyelet and twine on the object.. :) oh and I used copic markers to color the tags as well... I hope she likes it.. Oh I distressed the whole thing too.. :)

Paper Smooches GDT Week 3

Hey everyone!! I can't believe I have been the GDT member for paper smooches for 3 weeks already. I want to thank everyone who comes to see my creations each week.. It really means a lot to me.

Okay onto this weeks creation. I used 8, yes 8 Paper Smooches sets. Let's see, the details.. well I used the tv for the soapboxes, I stamped them on Kraft cardstock then used my copic markers to shad them, the "i" for the # sign, to make the number 8 on the soapbox I used the scooter light, for the wheels I used the double circle from the sugar rush set. Oh for the number 11 I used the long rectangle.

for the rest of the card, I think you can see where I used what image.. oh the dotted road is from the Alphadot set :)

Hey! So I decided to make a really simple, one layered card for Ryan and his family.. If you don't know the story, I strongly urge you to go to this website and read it. Also send a card..:)

I have to tell you I had a blast making this card.. I used stampin up inks, and applied them with a sponge on the card.. well that was after I heat embossed with white embossing powder the image from unity.. :) The thing I found hardest was making the dark colors really blend together, and not just stand out where you lay down your ink.. I like how it turned out! Simple yet interesting is what I was going for.. I hope you all are having a wonderful week :) HUGS

Hey everyone! Here is a fun simple card using some scraps, and a circle punch.. That's it.. and I love how simple yet beautiful this turned out..I left the bottoms of the circles not really glued down so when you opened it, it kind of felt more separate.. :) just something fun and different.

Hey everyone!! This is just a quick, fun, little card I created.. I had this card in my mind for a really long time.. I love how it turned out.. I used copic markers to color my houses, both the b&w and the little colored one too :)

I used paper smooches stamps for this creation, oh for the clouds I used puffy paint to go around the clouds to make them stand out more and have more texture.

Paper Smooches GDT Week 2

It's my second week as the Guest DT spot for Paper Smooches. I have to say that I am having so much fun creating using Kim's stamps. I think these stamps are so versatile and really there are endless possibilities.. only your creativity!

So for this card I used 2 different sets, A little lovin (frogs) and Alphadots (dots for the clouds, and the grass, the words be unique.. I thought it would be fun to make a little "leap frog" card! Do you remember playing that game when you were little??

I used Martha Stewart's shredding scissors to create the grass. I stamped circles using the 3x method.. so you stamp once then move it over (don't re-ink yet) stamp again, and then again.. it gives it a really fun multi stamp effect.. I also used the cute little long strip of circles to create the "jumping mark for the frog"

Copic markers were used to color all my froggies, and to give the pink one her spots. :) I also used puffy paint to go around the clouds to make them "pop".. Ohh.. I used the cloud from Spiffy Scooters stamp set. I cut it out and used the negative as a template to stamp the dots in the cloud. I hope that makes sense.

For my second card, I wanted to create a big flower.. So when I saw the lemon I thought "flower leaves" then the banana looked like a scallop to me. I also used the blueberry stamp for the center. This is what I came up with. I used 3 different stamps sets for this card, Fruitastic, Boob tubes, & FOLKal Point. The design on the leaves, do you recognize it ? YEP it's that cute shape from Boob Tubes. The sentiment Thank You is from the FOLKal Point set.

I placed a little dab of puffy paint to bring the scallops together.. :) I hope you are having a wonderful day!! Thanks so much for stopping by! HUGS

Hey everyone! Here are 2 simple cards.. well I should say CAS cards.. they were a lot harder to create than I thought.. Man the glue dot strips are super sticky.. and they kept sticking to my scissors.. anyways.. I finally got them to work.. :) I used them for both cards, but created 2 totally different looks. I used doodlebug glitters. I really like the different range of colors they have..

So using the glue dot strips I placed them next to each other and made blocks. Then I added glitter, I made sure to go over them 2 times, and patted them down so you couldn't see any "lines"... Oh I also used the paper smooches sentiment stamps.. :)

BAKERS TWINE SWAP

Now who can’t use some beautiful Bakers Twine? This swap gives you the chance to have all the beautiful colors of twine out there, without having to pay an arm and a leg.

Here is how it will work.. Each person purchases 1 roll of bakers twine 240 yards. You can find this at a variety of stores here are a few

I am sure there are more companies out there, but those are a few to get you started. The whole point of doing a twine swap is so you can get all the colors but only have to buy one roll with 240yards. (I know some stores sell all the colors in a sample pack for the same price as the 240yards but you only get 140 yards.I don't know about you, but I like to pay less and get more.)

Each person will send in 8+1 (plus one is for the hostess that's me) 25 yard pieces per group.

You will put together 9 25yard pieces and get 8 back all different colors
Please feel free to sign up for more than one group! I realize not every color is going to be in each group, that is why I will be doing multipuls. I will only allow one color per group, example: if you sign want to be in group 1 and you have teal bakers twine, make sure that no one else is already doing teal in that group. It will be a first come first served, leave a comment with what groups you would like to be in, and what color you will be choosing for that group.

You must check in 2 weeks before the end date and let me know you are still in the swap. If you need to drop out that is fine life happens but I don't have the time to pm 20 people a few times to see if you are still in the swap. If you can't do this then don't sign up. Thank you. You must also check in after swap and let us know you received your swap back.

Inspired by Watermelon

I have to tell you I am in LOVE with how this card turned out! :) (really it doesn't show up on camera as well.. kind of a bummer) I thought it might be a little to simple, but quickly changed my mind. I totally have to give credit and inspiration for this idea to Emily (see her creation here) who made a stunning card, and this idea popped into my mind. So here is what I came up with.

Of course I used this weeks Play Date Cafe color combo (it reminds me of a watermelon, so fun!) I stamped all of the little circles using red, pink, & green.. then I took puffy paint and placed a small dot inside each flower to give it some texture. You really can't see it here, but it looks and feels so cool. :) I used paper smooches sugar rush sentiment. Thanks so much for looking, and for all the sweet comments.. you all totally make my day :) HUGS

Hey everyone! Here is a fun quick card I made for Liberty for her Birthday (July 19th she turned 3) Every single time I am making a card that has anything yummy that you can eat on it, she pretends to lick it or eat it.. So really I thought it would be perfect.

I have to tell you I saw this card made by Julie Day (view her amazing card here) so I totally had to card-lift it and give it a go... and I fell in love.. so I wanted to have a try..

I have added a couple of my own touches, distessing, the dry embossing in the back. I think it looks like a waffel cone.. YUMMY!! :)

Oh and I added these little see through almost crystal thingies.. I don't know what they are or where I got them.. But in real life it gives it a great texture. Ya, and the ribbon is really a dark pink almost red :)

Well the day is FINALLY here.. :) I am so.. SOOOO excited to be Paper Smooches Stamps Guest DT member for the month of August. I have to tell you.. I was a little nervous, thinking what if I don't do these stamps justice.. When I opened the stamps I didn't look at them for like 15 seconds, took a deep breath and FREAKED out with excitement.. The ideas just came to me.. and let me tell you, my mind gets on overload.. so I started writing them down..hehe..

For this cute little card I used 3 different stamp sets.. The new one A little lovin', Chubby Chums, & Sentiment Sampler. I love how these colors just POP off the card.. I used 3 different colors of embossing powder to create the sentiment block, and colored the bunny ears with a pink copic marker.. :) The inspiration came from Lindsay's post HERE.. I love how she used "part" of the stamp.. when I saw this Cheeky little Bunny.. that was it.. :) thanks Lindsay

Welcome Baby... Okay.. I fell in love with these little elephants.. :) When I saw the banana I thought, they just had to be turned into.. LEAVES!! :) then I thought.. I need to make a palm tree.. so I used 4 stamp sets to create this card..

From the A little lovin set-I used the elephants, and the Welcome Baby.. For the leaves and the coconuts I used the banana, and the grape.. Sugar Rush-for the trunk of the tree I used the outline of the drink for the bottom, and the inner line of the drink for the top of the trunk. Spiffy Scooters set-the cloud :) I used copic markers to color in all my images.. Let me know if you have any questions.. :) HUGS

Hey everyone! Here are a couple really fun and simple cards from me.. I needed a couple cards for people who came to the hospital.. so I had to whip up something really quick..This first one is a fun thing to do.. using the folding technique use little scraps you have, and create folded flags. To help keep them down try sewing them. :) Oh I used a sentiment from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler. I also distressed the edges for a little more eye candy!

I used the sketch from Lilly Pad but flipped it a bit.. I also got the inspiration for the tag from the sketch :)

For the second card. I wanted to create a little landscaping scene.. So I used the paper smooches stamps again.. but created a very fun and simple scene. Oh I stamped the circles on the grass using the new alphadots set from paper smooches, then used my Martha Stewart shredding scissors and cut the grass..;) I added some googlie eyes to my little monster to make it more fun. To attach the ground, I decided to sew it down.. The clouds are made using the float stamp, and I used some puffy paint to go around them to make them pop! :) I hope you are enjoying your week.. Oh and a HUGE THANK YOU to Jenny who helped walk me through the lighting issues I was having!! YOU ROCK!! HUGS

Liberty update on surgery, +card

A little update on Liberty!!.. She is doing very well.. Thank you to EVERYONE for your love, prayers, and support..Liberty surgery was a success.. she did wonderful.. she got out of surgery around 2pm.. on Friday.. she will stayed in the hospital for 24hrs.. The first things she said to me when she woke up was.. "I want a pop-sopt-kal" (Popsicle) :) The nurse asked me what color I thought she would like.. she said they have purple, red, and orange.. I said probably orange, since it has less die.. Liberty without missing a beat, eyes still closed said.. I want red.. in a sweet whisper.. so she got red.. she took 2 bites and fell back to sleep.. I love her spunky, sweet spirit.. even when she is in pain.. :) this is a picture of her and her brother.. while she was wheeled out of surgery..

For my card I used The Crafts Meow Stamp Set Life is a Carnival set.. I just adore this set, and thought it would be perfect for this sketch.. :) I stitched the "ground" for my elements to go on, instead of drawing them out.. I thought it would add a little more dimension to the card.

I also bent the tickets so they looked more "real" the Ferris wheel and the sentiment are on pop dots to me them Pop off the card.. Thanks so much for looking HUGS

Ooh.. this looked like so much fun.. I just had to play.. :) The Play Date Cafe challenge.. Black and white and your pick of ONE color.. :) As you can see.. I picked Teal :) I love how this turned out.. :) I used paper smooches stamps and created my own background..

I also used puffy paint in white and went around the card to give it more texture.. I really love how this turned out.. Sorry for the dark pictures.. it's night time.. but really wanted to try to get this one in..Thanks so much for looking.. HUGS

Hey everyone! This is just a CAS card.. :) It's my friend Kristi's Birthday today! Happy Birthday Kristi.. and I needed a card to go along with her present I got her.. :)

I just adore the Sugar Rush Set from Paper Smooches.. Especially for the birthday, and anytime you just need a cute little pick me up card.. This card I used copic marker to color my images.. The shake I put on pop dots to give it a little more dimension. I also added diamond glaze and glitter to the "foam" to make it sparkle. Drew some fast lines around the card and that's about it! :) Thanks for looking.. hope you all are having a wonderful weekend..

Hey everyone!! Well this is another creation I made using the amazing Paper Smooches Stamps from Kim.. LOVE THEM.. :) Come follow along with me and create your own project.. I will give you step by step instructions on how you can create something just like this little scene.. :) Hope you will join me..

Surf & Turf stamp set I used the cut little fish and the waves for all the small waves on this creation.. I used the Boob Tube set for the sentiment HEY!

(Using the Hang Ups stamp set..)For the outhouse and Kraft cardstock, I took the top of the bird house and layered it 3 times for the top of the outhouse. For the base I used 2 different stamps, the rectangle stamp, and the long thin rectangle stamp. I double stamped the chunky rectangle stamp. Then used the long thin one to create the "wood." I used the moon and the stars from this set too.. Oh then I wanted BIG waves, so I used the swoosh on the word "Hi" for the big waves behind my little monster.

Okay for this little monster and the canoe.. I use 3 different stamp sets Sugar Rush, Falling for you, & Vegtastic. I took the caramel apple and made an ore for the little monsters canoe. I used the little monster from Falling for you set. and for the actual canoe, I used the pea pod. everything was colored using copic markers. This was such a fun card to make.. :)

The color combo lt blue, yellow, green, and dark blue was inspired by April Cool Shades:) this was so much fun! This is for the Paper Smooches Spark Challenge.. since I adore PS stamps you all know I have entered this challenge already with other creations.. I was so excited to be the Guest DT member for Paper Smooches the month of AUG so I went and played :) and this is what I came up with..Thanks for stopping bye.. HUGS

Oh and look!!! My baby turned 3! Her birthday was really July 19th, but her party is this Sat.. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes for her.. Her surgery is next Friday..I am sure she will do just fine..but thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and messages.. This is her birthday invite I made, and sent out!!

This is the perfect time to show you a simple creation I made for my friends birthday!! :)

I used 2 Paper Smooches Stamp Sets.. Surf & Turf and Sugar Rush..

I wanted to create a stack of cupcakes. For the cupcakes, sprinkles, candies, and candle bases I used the Sugar Rush Stamp Set. For the decorations on the candles, I used the Surf & Turf stamp set. I wanted the candles to be decorated, so I used the little water drops, the star fish, and the wave for the top candle. Each candy and sprinkle is covered with diamond glaze and colored glitter, oh the candle top too.. Copic markers were used to color in all the images.. Thanks for looking.. HUGS

Peas on Earth.. :) hehe.. I just love the Vegtastic stamp set from Paper Smooches.. I have to be honest with you, when I first saw this set, I thought. Why would anyone want a vegetable stamp set? lol okay I can see why.. I think I have used this set more than any of my other stamps, and lets just say I have PLENTY of them to choose from.. :) I just think it is so versatile and fun.. Kim makes these guys super cute to play with..

Okay.. so for this creation I wanted to make an earth card.. but one problem.. no earth stamp.. so I used the outside edge of the Pea Pod (see pic below) and stamped 2 of them together to make a circle. I then just drew in "earth and water lines"... I then stamped a bunch of the peas from the set, large and small.. colored them all up using copic markers, and placed them around. I used pop dots for the back of the earth.. to give it more of a 3d feel.. :) I knew I wanted to make it say Peas on Earth.. so I used the Peas part of the sentiment from this set, then took letters from the others sets I have to finish the sentiment.. I think it turned out rather well.. :)

Hang in there.. this is just a simple card using of course Paper Smooches stamps.. I can't wait to see what Kim comes up with next. This card is 4x4, which I just discovered, I LOVE!!! They are big enough to write something sweet in, and small enough to not take forever to create.

I thought a fun card would be a little squirrel hanging on a hanger, sliding down the telephone pole. :) I hope you all are having a wonderful week.. HUGS..

Hey everyone! I am back with a very sweet but simple card.. :) Of course using Paper Smooches stamps.. I just can't seem to get enough of them.

For this Creation.. I used 2 stamp sets, (see below) I took the pea pod and created the "ice cream bowl".. then I used the cute ice cream cone, and cut off just the scoops of ice cream and added it to my sundae. I wanted to add some "whipped cream" so I used the top of the little eggplant, cut off the stem and connected it using a marker. Then placed a cherry on top, because everything is sweeter with a cherry. I used diamond glaze, and some glitter to give it a little more texture, and to had a fun feel to this simple card. Pop it up with some foam squares and there you have it. I used Copic markers to color all my elements..I hope I have inspired you to look at your stamps and create something that is all your own.. :) HUGS

Beep Beep using 4 diff. Paper smooches sets

Okay! Here we go again.. I can't stop looking at my Paper Smooches Stamps and see all sorts of things.. :)

For this creation we use 4 different stamp sets Vegtastic, Sugar Rush, Spiffy Scooters, & Hang Ups.

We will start with the Car on my creation. I used the Pea Pod from the Vegtastic set, I stamped only the outline of the image and the little peas without the face. I then took the little double circle from the Sugar Rush Collection and used the outside edge for the big wheel and the inner circle for the small wheel. Then I took the top of the Carmel apple and made a window, I also used the Carmel apple stick to make the bottom of the window to join it together. The 2 headlights are gumdrops from the Sugar Rush set also.

Okay moving on to the little clouds :) Now Kim has given us amazing clouds in sets, BUT there wasn't a cloud that was the right size for me. So I used the rootbeer float top from the Sugar Rush set. It was the perfect size. :) and the little bitty cloud, that is from the Spiffy Scooters set.

The rainbow is also the rootbeer float stamp, without the straw and I placed it on my block a little bendy so it would look more rainbowish..:)

The cute little tree is from the Hang Ups set. It's the small branch and the 2 leaves. I just placed them randomly to make a heart. The sentiment is part of the Spiffy Scooters collection also.. I only used the Beep Beep part.

The black is folded and tied with some bakers twine, to make it look like a road. The 2 sections of grass were cut with Martha Stewart's Shredding scissors. LOVE THEM use them anytime I have grass to cut :). I used copic markers to color all my images. Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Oh my heavens.. I have to tell you all how much fun I am having with these paper smooches stamps. I received some for my birthday, and ever since then I have been hooked on playing with them.. :)
So I made this little "under water" scene. I used the Surf and Turf set I got the idea of placing the bubbles in a heart after seeing a post I think it was on paper smooches. I loved how she did this with the fish and think it's such a fun idea.. so I used bubbles! One other fun thing I did, to get the fish swimming towards eachother I just flipped it upside down. :)

I put some glossy accents over the bubbles to make them have texture and to look more "real." I drew the sea bottom sand, used copic markers to color it in..

I am trying out for the GDT spot at paper smooches as well.. so wish me luck for the spot and the new PS Spark Challenge.. HUGS

Oh my heavens.. I have to tell you all how much fun I am having with these paper smooches stamps. I received some for my birthday, and ever since then I have been hooked on playing with them.. :)
So I made this little "under water" scene. I used a few different stamp sets, the Surf and Turf set was used for the main "fish and underwater" elements. For the little monster, his boat, and the sail, I used the Falling for You set. The sail is the Bat's wing, the boat is the nut. That cute little cupcake is from the Sugar Rush set, oh and the branch that is holding up the sail is from the Hang Ups set.

I imagined these little sea creatures seeing this little monster floating away at sea. What do they see in his boat? A HUGE cupcake!!! So they ban together to steal it :) That's why the sentiment says "Way to Go" from the sentiment sampler set. I am trying out for the GDT spot at paper smooches as well.. so wish me luck for the spot and the new PS Spark Challenge.. HUGS

Oh my heavens.. I have to tell you all how much fun I am having with these paper smooches stamps. I received some for my birthday, and ever since then I have been hooked on playing with them.. :)
So I made this little beach scene, and it was so much fun to create. I used a few different sets.. so I will start left to right. For the "sand castle" I used the "Sugar Rush" set. Yep.. see that cute little drink with the straw.. I used that as the outline. For the Seagull and the rest of the "fishy" elements I used the Surf and Turf set. For the Sun I used 2 different sets. The Boob Tube set. I used one of the TV's for the shape, and then I used the Hang Up's set for the "Rays" of the sun. The Sentiment comes from Chubby Chums set. I thought it was perfect "Let's Play" since I am sure Seagulls would rather "eat" the crab then "play" I think that would put a smile on someones face. I also placed pop dots under the sandcastle, seagull, and the crabs to make the "pop" off the page.. :) Wish me luck on my GDT and the new PS Spark Challenge.. HUGS
